Pastor Matt & Suzanne Lake

Missions

Matt and Suzanne Lake, middle school sweethearts and both lifelong residents of Laurens County, were married in 2002. They both attended and graduated from Georgia Southern University where Matt earned a bachelor’s degree in Finance and Suzanne earned a degree in Early Childhood Education. After finishing college, Matt and Suzanne moved back to Dublin to pursue business ventures. The Lakes are blessed to have five beautiful children, KB, Bennett, Keaton, Bowan, and Lynnox, who help to keep their calendar full and exciting. The Lord led Matt and Suzanne to Christ Chapel in the summer of 2013. They have always had a heart for missions, and through a series of God-ordained events, they were called to India in 2015 as missionaries and had the extraordinary opportunity of serving alongside and developing a lifelong relationship with a Pastor and his family there. They have never looked back, and have led and served with many others in local and foreign missions. In 2018, Matt and Suzanne were asked to serve as Missionary Pastors at Christ Chapel. They have a heart for serving others, and believe that Christ is often best experienced through blind obedience to His call on your life. They keep a great big “YES” in their spirits for anything Christ asks of them, even if they cannot see the end result. The focus of Matt and Suzanne’s ministry is centered around Romans 10:15, which states, “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring the good news.” Matt and Suzanne strive to create opportunities for others to be the hands and feet of Jesus, both locally and throughout the world, and they fervently believe that through those experiences their lives, and those whose lives they serve, will be transformed by the truth of the Gospel and the love of Jesus Christ.

Paige Hale

Worship Leader/Administrative Assistant

Paige was born and raised in Valdosta, Georgia into a Christ-loving and musically inclined family. She recently married Gunner Hale on December 31st, 2022, and gained two precious daughters, Liana and Layla. They currently reside in Baxley, GA.

Paige was educated at Brewton-Parker College, earning herself a Bachelors in Christian Studies in December of 2017. Throughout her life, and her collegiate career, Christ and music have been foundational. While at BPC, Paige served various local churches through their worship ministries, and sang and traveled with the vocal ensemble Voices of Truth.

Upon graduation, Paige sought after God’s calling in her life and moved to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to serve at a church plant called The Well. It was there that the Holy Spirit began to create a deep stirring in her heart for worship—to see God’s people enter into an encounter with Him, praising Him in all stages of life. She served on the worship team for the remainder of her time there.

As God transitioned her back to Georgia, He planted her back at Brewton-Parker College. Paige came in as an Admissions Counselor, but soon was promoted to Director of Student Activities and Camp Coordinator. Along with those roles, she was also asked to coordinate and lead worship for the college’s chapel services.

CCD’s relationship with Paige began with her coming to fill in for a few Sundays in October of 2021. It wasn’t long before Paige felt that CCD would be her permanent church home, as the people there felt like family upon first arrival. Pastor Gregg, Mindy, and Paige all sat down on a Tuesday and shared how the Holy Spirit was aligning their hearts with a beautiful YES to have Paige come on staff as the worship leader.

Paige’s testimony in life, and journey to CCD, is wrapped fully in the grace, goodness, and faithfulness of the Lord. It is her prayer that as she leads worship, and lives her life, that others would only see Jesus and his redeeming, restoring, and amazing love.

Josh Godbee

Youth Pastor

Josh was born and raised in the small-town scene of Davisboro, GA. He graduated from Thomas Jefferson Academy of Louisville, GA in 2008.  He is married to his high school sweetheart Brittany, and they have two beautiful daughters Ellie Grace and Merci Kate. They enjoy spending as much family time together as possible. Josh loves his Jesus, loves his family, and loves people. You could summarize this fella with a few things like this:

Energetic, passionate, hilarious (most of the time at his own expense), loves big, visionary, sings everywhere he goes, never meets a stranger, works hard & backs down from nothing!

Josh has been plugged into ministry since the age of twenty-two and began serving at Oaky Grove Church as the leader of the children’s ministry. He and Brittany served there for almost seven years until God led them to be involved in a church plant in Louisville, GA. The Resurrection Church plant was exciting and full of challenges at the same time which would render the responsibilities to preach, lead worship, begin a children’s ministry and help with community missions. After the church plant was off the ground, the Godbee’s moved to Dublin in 2020 and found their place at Liberty Church, where they would become volunteer leaders in the children’s and student ministries. That road took a turn on March 14 at the opening ceremonies of Dudley Little League’s 2022 season. Christ Chapel member, Jessica Keown, followed the voice of the Lord and spoke to Josh as he was walking out of the ceremony early to make it to a sound check for a student worship service at Liberty. The following days were filled with earnest prayers and an answer from the Lord that would lead Josh into the Youth Pastor role here at Christ Chapel Dublin.

Josh has balanced ministry and work life since he started in 2012 and continues to do this as he is an owner in the company EIC Inc., a water and wastewater service company that serves Georgia and the surrounding states.
