When you are young, time is not a precious commodity. You think you have forever to plan, dream, and live. So you spend time carelessly, maybe selfishly. These habits may prevail into middle age. It is only when you enter the later decades of your life, when you realize that the days ahead are fewer than the days behind, that you begin to understand the immense value of each hour.

Last week’s sermon was a great reminder of why we are called. Pastor Gregg said afterward that maybe it would “oil the gears” when I mentioned that the blog needed writing. He preached that our calling is personal. “Of all people, it’s you.” It is unique. “No one can tell steal your Resurrection story.” It is imperative. “Your calling has a commission.”

Live in such a way that, even if you could not speak, your fellow man would hear you loudly and boldly proclaiming that Jesus Christ is Lord of your lifeMake every day count for Him. Another’s eternal destination depends on it. Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God. 1 Corinthians 10:31.

Life is a vaporJames 4:14. You think you have plenty of time. You do not.
